The First Baptist Church of Alexandria Counseling Center provides Christian coaching and counseling services for the FBCA community as well as other local church families, couples and individuals.

Coaching is about setting goals, personal discovery and making changes. We provide ongoing support, feedback, and accountability to help you achieve your goals. The coaching process helps clients define their vision and achieve goals faster than traditional counseling. However, sometimes counseling is required in order to help address deeper issues. As a professionally trained and licensed counselor, we help individuals find hope and healing in their struggles with stress, anxiety, or depression -helping individuals find lasting solutions.

In Person and TeleHealth Available
In addition to In Person meetings, Telehealth appointments are available to new and existing clients, and to U.S. government and military personnel serving around the globe. Clients are able to receive services from the comfort and safety of their home or wherever they are located.

Coulter’s career in counseling, (MA Clinical Psychology, Western Seminary) began over 30 years ago, providing counseling and coaching services for individuals, couples, and families. He has extensive experience in both private practice as well as in church settings. Along with his counseling practice, Coulter leads workshops, retreats, seminars, develops and leads programs for couples preparing for and strengthening marriage, and supervises non-licensed personnel.
Coulter has completed doctoral coursework (ABD) in cognitive psychology, and has taught and counseled high school students in Fairfax County and Falls Church City Public Schools for over 30 years. Coulter founded Restore, LLC to continue to help individuals, marriages, and families become stronger.
As a result of his clinical experience, Coulter has extensive expertise helping individuals find hope and healing in their struggles with stress, anxiety, addiction, or feeling depressed. He has counseled and coached others in the areas of premarital and marriage counseling, parenting, and child-adolescence therapy. He practices from a distinctly Christian perspective, and integrates a Biblical worldview into his work with marriages, families, and individuals.
Coulter enjoys spending time with Lauren, his spouse of over 30 years, doing ministry together, visiting their two adult children, and volunteering with local and international ministries.
