About the Foundation

The Foundation was formed during 1979 as a charitable organization closely affiliated with the First Baptist Church of Alexandria. In its first forty-two years, the Foundation has contributed over $5 million from its investment earnings to expand the ministries of the church. Contributions made to the Foundation are invested, and the income periodically is given to First Baptist Church ministries by supplementing the church budget. The contributions, as designated by the donors, are presently in many ministry funds and continue to provide support year after year. Each fund is open to additional contributions, and new ministry funds can be established by donors. Undesignated contributions are placed in the Foundation’s General Fund, which provides the largest contribution each year.

What does the
Foundation support?

The Foundation Board meets quarterly and supports initiatives to enhance the ministries of FBCA and the surrounding community.  
Examples of financial support are missions, benevolence, education scholarships, music ministry, deaf ministry, children’s, youth, adult and senior adult programs, new church support, and church building programs.

Annual Scholarship Application information:

- Applications will be open annually in the spring to high school graduates, and those pursuing college,  graduate, or seminary classes.
- Students must be enrolling for classes the following school year.
