This summer, we are plussing up Vacation Bible School! Kids will have an opportunity to go deeper, stay longer, and have even more fun as we explore the greatness of God! In addition to our traditional morning VBS program, we are also offering a full day option for children who have completed kindergarten – 6th grade called VBS+. Children who are registered for VBS+ will attend from 9:30am until 4:00pm Monday, July 21 through Friday, July 25.
Morning VBS will still run from 9:30 am – 12:30pm, and that experience will be engaging and fun, as it has been for many years, and there’s still no fee. We are offering VBS+, our full day option, at the low cost of $100 per child for the week at VBS+. Finances a concern? Contact Pastor Kim at kim@fbcalexandria.org to discuss scholarship options. The afternoon session will add lunch, a professional Bible story presentation, and fun activities galore!
We love VBS and can’t wait to invite children from our community to join us! VBS+ registration opens on Friday, February 14. We expect spaces to fill quickly, so go ahead and register your child soon!

VBS+ begins with an exciting Opening Rally in the Sanctuary. Afterwards, it's off to base rooms for small group Bible studies, then rotations through crafts, recreation, and music stations which remind us of each day's big Bible idea. Kids who have just completed kindergarten - 6th grade are invited to plus it up by staying through the afternoon to stay longer, to go deeper, and to have more fun!

Our amazing volunteers are the key to a successful VBS!
FAQs:
- Who can volunteer? Members and attendees of FBCA, as well as followers of Christ from other churches, are welcome to register to indicate interest in volunteering. We will be in touch regarding available positions. Youth positions are limited to FBCA youth only.
- What is the time commitment? This will largely depend on the role that each volunteer fills. Plan to attend the Kick-Off Celebration on June 1 to learn more. New volunteers are also encouraged to attend VBS 101 training, and teaching teams will need to meet and devote time to preparation. Plan to setup your space the Sunday before VBS begins and be on campus at FBCA 9am-12:30pm, 12pm-4pm, or 9am-4pm each day.
- How do I know what to do? If you are new to VBS at FBCA, we will provide information at our Kick-Off Celebration, at VBS 101, and we will pair you with at least one experienced volunteer. As part of our curriculum we provide lesson plans and teaching materials to teaching team members. Our staff is also happy to assist you!
- If I volunteer can my children come with me? Yes. Classes for volunteer children of all ages are offered during the morning session from 9am-12:30pm. Preschool child care is NOT offered during the VBS+ afternoon session from 12:30pm-4pm.
