First Family,
Have you looked at the church steeple this week?
For as long as anyone can remember, the light bulbs have been burned out in our beautiful church steeple's lower and upper sections. However, all that has changed this week thanks to our new Building Superintendent, Dana Lawhorne. Under his supervision, he saw to this needed repair.
Last night our steeple was a true show-stopper. During a meeting at the church last night, every person who passed by stopped and commented on how grateful they were to see it illuminated again. Our beautiful campus continues to remind our community of the light God has shown upon this world through Christ Jesus.
Jesus called upon this metaphor when speaking to the disciples during The Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5. He said, as recorded in Matthew 5:14-16, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
From our parking lot to the pew we pray that everyone will see the light of Christ that is in us. Christ has changed our lives and we desire for the whole world to know. First Family let the light of Christ shine through you this week.
Servant for His Glory,
Pastor Robert
