Share the Gospel!

Tim Keller once said, “Because the gospel is endlessly rich, it can handle the burden of being the one ‘main thing’ of a church.”

Over the last few weeks, I hope I have communicated my passion and desire for us as a church to keep the gospel at the forefront of everything we do. There are so many good things that the church could do, has done, and is even doing, but there is only one thing it must do. It must share the gospel! Many organizations can do all these other good things, but only one can share the gospel: the Church.

To some, that may feel like a narrow or shallow focus, but in the words of Tim Keller, the gospel is “endlessly rich.” Every day I grow deeper in my understanding of the gospel. Every day I am grateful for the gospel message. Every day, I desire to share the gospel message with someone else.

Next time you are here on our church campus, take note of the signs as you exit the parking lot onto King’s Street. You will find the words of Mark 16:15 “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” We are commissioned people to take hold of the gospel and share it. Let’s continue to do the one thing that we alone can do: share the gospel.
